“We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.” Rom. 15:1-2
Bearing or carrying the failings of the weak seems an impossible task. After all, isn’t it enough to carry your own failings? But wait, God bears the failings that make us weak. Perhaps this knowledge provides the key. It is not about necessarily replacing our failings with those of others but bringing both to God, who is able to carry all failing. This is what makes us strong. Not our ability to carry on our backs the failings of our neighbors but our ability to take those failings to the all-powerful One. Who will you carry to God this week?
